I think those direct TV commercials are awful anyway. They are always using shots of dead actors, it's totally creepy. That one wasn't as bad as the poltergeist one. That being said, it makes me sad that they weren't friends in real life, I always assumed they were.

Sewage does not come to mind when I think of your blog. The commercial doesn't really strike me as that big a deal. Plenty of passed on celebs have had their image used to promote products. I didn't know that he and David had such a contentious relationship. How sad.

I don't have the background knowledge about the two gentlemen so I didn't think much of the commercial except that it was sad he died so young and for such terrible reasons. David Spade always came off to me as a 'CAD', no surprise he is a jerk. You know he actually throws things at the sightseeing vans that drive past his home. I dont think the commerical is that bad... I mean, I enjoy seeing a clip from "Tommy Boy" & it doesnt really surprise me about David Spade taking advantage of it... but its a movie clip, so I dont think that makes it as bad. Now, if he had personal home video & used that, that would be tacky....
