Voting is important and it is amazing to me how people blow off the local stuff and yet it is the local government that affects their lives way more than the President. It kind of cracks me up. People have no idea how the mayor or city manager/ council and so on makes decisions about your day to day life and the President does nothing. You know how you need local business and taxes and so on,

We only had millage votes and shame on me, I ended up too lazy to go vote them down. My husband went though, and voted an extra-enthusastic NO for both of us. Thank goodness none of them passed.

I was going to put... I am glad you voted only if you voted for all Republicans...then I noticed that sweet little comment to my left... and decided to just let it go.

I actually didn't vote for all the little bullshit referendums here in Austin, and I didn't care until I heard there was only an 8% turn out in all of Texas. Now I'm just ashamed.

I do similar things---I go down my party line for most things, and then I consider how many negative ads I saw, and vote for the opposing person if I remember their ads as being obnoxious (which is all of them).

I try to keep up on at least 50% of what I'm voting for. Uneducated guesses are still good for the minor issues, right??

There was no political activity for us in which to participate in Los Angeles, (snap) dang! Our new police chief was chosen my our mayor.

Election day is the only day we'll allow you a day off from retuning comments BTW. Pass granted, moving forward ;-)

There was one guy who is a friend of ours running for mayor unopposed, then two for city council and we were supposed to pick 2. So... I filled in all the little ovals and voted..

I never miss an election, but no elections took place in my community. I am one of those hard-core people who spends tons of time reading up on candidates and doing research. Since I have turned 18(which was 10 years ago)I have never walked into a polling place uninformed.

I first go through and vote for all the Democrats. Then I vote for those who aren't currently holding the office. Then I start making decisions based on if the person has ticked me off with too many yard signs and phone calls to my house.

(BTW, don't change your blog like I'm changing mine. It is SO confusing. I think my brain is going to explode into a giant cheeseball...
