Yes, The Bimbo Degree!!

Yesterday I was picking VC up from helping a classmate with editing a video she was making.  I got to chatting with her mom and then told VC that we needed to run since I had a big test tomorrow (today - and let me say it was a doozy!!!!)

She asked what my major was because she was surprised to hear I was studying Anatomy & Physiology - when I told her she said, "Oh, you mean those bimbos at the doctor's office study THAT???"  She was incredibly surprised since she said most of the medical assistants she has come across when she visits the doctor don't seem too intelligent.

So let me boil things down:  I have gone from working at an upscale art gallery, where people used to Ohhh and ahhhhh when they heard what I did, to going to school to get another degree so I can get a job as a bimbo.

:D

P.S. Blogging has become my guilty pleasure.  To take a few minutes away from my books to make a posting provides some much needed levity.  Sorry that I haven't been around to visit, but I'll get there....when I'm on break.  Too many body parts to memorize so I need to keep my focus.

It Bears Repeating

You may have seen me post this elsewhere, in which case, please ignore it, but I am still so tickled over this topic, I wanted to post it here.

.....and the topic is - that Kendra Wilkinson has a 'sex island' in her kitchen just the right height for Hank.  Can you give me a collective ewwwwwwwwwwwwww...

When I'm cooking in the kitchen like I did the other day making a Rachael Ray dish that could send me into instant cardiac arrest it was so cheesy, the last thing I would have wanted as a prep surface would be a sex island :-O)

Things from Today that Made me Paranoid

I think this will be a recurring segment.

I was driving VC to his gig downtown tonight - and he decided to take a nap.  I glanced over and realized that his seat was completely folded flat (yay Element!) - but I was in the *GASP* HOV lane.  OH MY GAWD, what if no one was able to see that I had a passenger in my car??????  The window is such that there is no way anyone could have seen him.

Do I move over to the right lane or just stick it out???  What if there are cameras?

Continuing along in the HOV lane at a high rate of speed and then realizing that my fancy new purse has opened and the contents are slowly rolling under my foot, such as a cap for my portable bug spray LOL. Do I sound like a granny?

Speaking of grannys, realizing that I am wearing underwear that sticks out above my low rise jeans but that I am too lazy to change so I just make sure I do not bend over all evening.  Now, this underwear was labeled as "bikini" - as in bikinis for a octogenarian!!!

Realizing that I have another big Anatomy & Physiology test next Thursday and only a teeny tiny bit prepared so I bring along my books to VC's gig. I am on information overload.

Oh, and turning on the computer this morning to find a black screen and blinking cursor, one day after I did a complete reinstall to factory settings.  Yes, on the day I was scheduled to take an online test. Yay me!!! ;-)

But on a positive note, my hair looked Super-Awesome today :D

I hope you all have a paranoid-free weekend.

P.S. Congrats to "nerdy" - winner of my SUPER giveaway.  She was the first comment!  See, first commenters DO Win!

OMG!

Have you seen this interview between Anderson Cooper and his mom Gloria Vanderbilt?  I hail from the days of Vanderbilt jeans with the swan on the pocket so part of the reason I clicked on the link was that I knew she had to be very old.  I had to blink a couple of times in amazement at her appearance.

The subject matter is extremely tragic, but can you believe she is 87????

Get me her plastic surgeon on the line ;-)

Anyone Lefthanded?

Lack of sleep due to stress is is a bad thing.  I've gotta find humor where I can, like yesterday when I was looking in the supply closet for a new pair of rubber gloves for washing dishes.

I always wear gloves when washing dishes, cleaning bathrooms etc. to protect my hands so they will not get all rough and scaly.

Thing is, all that I discovered was a pile of gloves - left handed only.  The right ones always wear out first and for some reason I can't bring myself to discard the perfectly good left hand ones.

I can't be the only one with this problem.....

I realize the quality of my blog posts is inversely related to the amount of school work I have.  Thanks to those of you still sticking around.

Still time to enter my SUPER giveaway!

P.S. After reading the first few comments I realize I may be coming across as an old fuddy duddy - either that or similar to the woman in the wacky hand model video :-O)  But seriously people my hands are soft and smooth!!!!

Doormat No More....Maybe

Looks like I am making strides in not being such a doormat.  Yesterday we received our snazzy new belly dance costumes.  (I say "snazzy" although what I really want to say is "potato sack" :D )

It was a box of 10 costumes for 10 dancers, each a different color.

The girl who ordered the costumes was divvying them up - and I had my eye on a maroon costume, since I figured it would be most flattering to my skin, compared to say the glow-in-the-dark lime green or orange one.

I waited until the others had been reserved and then it came time for the maroon one I had been wanting to snag.  The girl who ordered them handed it to another dancer and I was bummed since the remaining colors were red and black.

Well, she saw I was bummed (probably from my pout and mumbling that I didn't like the other colors as much) and agreed to give it to me.  YAY!!

What was interesting is that my bellydance buddy came up to me and said, "Wow, I never expected you to be the 'difficult' one."

See that, everyone expects "good 'ole carma" to never speak up!!!

No more!

I'll be proudly wearing my faux velvet costume with "I Dream of Jeanie" pants in the next recital. Not sure if I'll be posting pics, as it really is not too flattering.

But I may have spoken too soon about "the new carma" - about an hour ago the phone rang, and it was a certain hotel chain promoting their vacation club.  Instead of just blowing them off, I was sweet as pie, to the point where MB asked why I was being so kind.  I explained far too much - that I was going back to school and would not be vacationing any time soon, etc. etc. etc. and probably added a "thank you."

So there you go.  One step forward, one step back.

I have such a mountain of homework I can't even begin to tell you all that I have to learn by next Tuesday between medical terms and bones.

But I wanted to pop in and say 'hi' :-)

As the Blog Limps Along

I am finally able to post again on my blog! In a bizarre circumstance, I was unable to access my website from my home network; not one of the computers could pull up the site. Still no idea how the issue was resolved - whether it was the internet provider or the host site, but regardless I can post again.

Not that I will have many interesting posts, since they will mostly be whiney school posts. Much like the blog, school is limping along. I've taken a step back and realized if I kept up the pace I was going at, I'd have a complete breakdown by December. Part of my new acceptance plan will involve taking a lower grade on some things rather than trying to achieve perfection and hoping to make up for it on future tests/projects.

I seriously had no idea the program would be this rigorous or I may not have signed up :-O) It's not that I'm lazy, it's just that I frankly don't need the stress!!!

Still can't decide if it is the major for me. Suppressing my artsy/creative side in the interest of conforming will not be fun :-( But then I knew that when I signed up.

I miss the days when you could pick a major that was something you would excel at and be pretty much guaranteed a job. Fact is that the jobs I would be good at are not hiring!! My theory is that if I was to spend the time to go back to school it would be for something which had hiring potential.

Which meant only one thing: the Medical field.

Would you feel comfortable having me check your blood pressure and take your blood????? :D

My advice if you want to be happy: Don't do as I do.
