Switching Gears

A little change of pace this morning.  Now that I'm not in school and unemployed at the same time, it is time to live a little. We were fortunate to have been invited to the Coca Cola 600 yesterday:  clubhouse seats with dining in the Speedway Club - now that is the way to watch a race!!  We are not big racing fans, but we do know of several of the drivers since many of the speed shops are located nearby, in "NASCAR country," LOL  - Every now and then we go to a race.  Anyway, here are some pics:

I'm proud of that photo because I managed to snap it at the exact time the stealth bomber flew overhead - you can see it on the TV in the background.  The TV screen is massive, bigger than the lot our house is located on, which will give you an idea how huge it is!

The highlight of the event for MB, who is a starstruck fool ;-)  was getting to meet Lee Greenwood "God Bless the USA." He was on hand to sing his signature song before the start of the race.   We noticed him in the Speedway Club after the race, took a snapshot and then MB later got his autograph after I realized he was sitting two rows behind us.

He is quite a guy - incredibly humble and friendly....

Enjoy your Memorial Day - Thanks to all who serve for your sacrifices to keep our country safe.  When Kevin Harvick, the winner of last year's race spoke to the fans he ended with,  “Finally, that bastard Bin Laden is dead." :D
