Call me crazy, but I would think an alphabetical system world work well for this type of filing...
Do you have a similar filing system where only you know how to find what you are looking for? (Hey, that's the line from Whitesnake. I did NOT plan that. Seriously. And now I realize we sound like big dorks for even looking for Whitesnake in the first place ;-) )
P.S. Guess where I was last night?
Upcoming: review of some luggage and some tasty treats...

I don't keep old things, so I don't have a file system, so much better...I dream of empty zen spaces.
The truth is that our home is small :D
We are just not that organized!
that is an interesting way to organize those!
Geez.... My organizational traits like that are due to OCD.... he would make a librarian jealous.
I don't know if you saw my post about my lost water bottle and pics of my messy desk at work, but my desk "filing system" is much like an archeologist's. It's like sedimentary rock... layer after layer. If I want something I think, "what day was it that was in my box?" and "which day did we do that activity?"... It's all very complicated. And ridiculous.
I suppose if it works for MB, it's OK.
It seems counter intuitive, but that's just me ;-)
I think it was '87. I remember because that girl, Tawnt Kitaen was so smoking hot back then. Who knew she was nuttier than a Snickers bar?
I bet you were skating last night :-)
Reminds me of Radar from Mash. :)
PS My word verification is 'yogurtin'. That's not the answer to your question, is it?
I might haver at one time...many years ago had my music organized by genre but year! Lol! I wish I was organized like that but then I'd never know where to find stuff.
Unfortunately, most of my piles are organized in a fashion that only I know where things are. The worst part is when they get "straightened up" as I am lost for a week.
I hope whereever you were last night was worth your time.
Nice post i like it, keep blogging and If you want too, kindly and please visit my blog http://jabrasr.blogspot.com/ thank you in advance.
I would like also to share this to your reader,... The Succes and Opportunity Family:
The father of succes is WORK,
The mother of succes is AMBITION,
The oldest son of succes is COMMON SENSE
Some of the other sons of success are PERSEVERENCE, HONESTY, THOROUGHNESS, FORESIGHT, ENTHUSIASM, and COOPERATION;
The oldest daughter of succes is CHARACTER,
Some sisters of success are CHEERFULNESS, LOYALTY, CARE, ECONOMY, and SINCERITY,
The baby is OPPORTUNITY.
Who? Heh, heh....I don't have any records any more----so I can't relate...
Sorry I haven't been around in a while----life is way too crazy----but I've missed you!!
Haha! This cracks me up! I laugh, but I am also an offender of having a secret way of filing. I store all my downloaded photos on my computer in a way that no one understands but me! I get a little too detailed in ways that other people don't understand I guess. I have files inside files inside files. And that is the way I like it! ;)
Now that's impressive! I will not let my husband know about this, or else he'll be reorganizing his collection tomorrow! It's bad enough that he has his DVD's organized by directors.
ha ha! that is very funny...shows how people categorize things differently...like maybe he would remember more about those years than about the artists/titles or something? interesting...putting my psychology to work on that one...i am fascinated by the associations people make and why...working on my 20 year high school reunion and trying to find 80's music that is both memorable but has associations for our classmates (so many of them are depressing to me)...here i go again rambling...and yes, i did put that white snake reference in there on purpose but now i've got that song stuck in my head!!!
But rethinking it, an alphabetical order would be better, no doubt :D
Love.
P.s. I'm just like this ;)
My CDs/DVDs are arranged in the same manner but you can easily spot what you want to play because of the color of the case or the label itself on the side. Though you would still have to go through browsing them. Oftentimes I had to go back as I might have missed the one I'm looking for in the first pass. Sigh.
I love this post. So applicable to me. My office desk isn't really organized either.
What I would do to have filing system!! Ours is throw it under there and then pull all the shit out to find it when need it, ugh!
I love Whitesnake and now I need to go listen to them. And yeah. I am SO bad with years and time that that specific organizational method was would LOST on me!!
Blessings-
Amanda
I used to have a 'system', but unfortunately it's just become piles'o'stuff in the attic. ;)
Yeah I have the throw-everything-in-a-drawer system. It looks totally disorganized, but I can go in there and find what I'm looking for in an instant.
My husband is an alphabetizer. I definitely think that would make WAY more sense with those records! Whatever works for him I guess! :)
actually i don't really have a system at all.. i'm just ALL organized like that... ;)
lol... yep! i agree... filled my alphabet may have been better!
That is so funny. At least he has a filing system...my old pictures ect... are in such a mess.
Wow your son let you into the man cave? That's a big deal! I gave you a comical shout out in my post today. Stop over for a gander :-)
I like things to LOOK neat and orderly, so that means I arrange them according to size or color, with no preference for alphabet or number or usefulness.
I'd go with the A-Z approach. That's how I've got our dvds organized and it makes it easy to find things. I heart organization!
Sadly I am known for my organizing skills that nobody understands and it drives my hubs batty! I say at least I've got something organized.
I am not an organized person!

My hubby won't keep things around long enough to create a filing system LOL!! He's afraid of being a hoarder... looking forward to the review.
I am systemless. It works for me.
Man cave huh? You are one brave woman!
Where it is filed will depend on how in to 80's music your hubs is. That song was originally released on a Whitesnake album called Saints & Sinners in 1982, but then re-released on their self-titled album in 1987. That is when the song hit #1, I believe. (I did have to double-check the dates...I knew the song was released twie).
Wow, that's awesome for him to be so organized! I try to be organized but move around way to much to collect anything except what piles up in my parents' basement. LOL!
