Bad Move, Ralph!

Remember my post from last week featuring the severely digitally altered model Filippa Hamilton?

Well, the brouhaha caused by that laughable Ralph Lauren ad has barely died down, and now comes word that the model in question, who is 5-10 and 120 lbs. has allegedly been fired for being too fat to fit into Ralph's clothing! sheesh!

I turned on the Today Show this morning just as Filippa was being interviewed by Ann Curry and was surprised to hear this.

C'mon Ralph, have a little common sense! This move is only begging for more bad press. [I'll need to pass on this info to a certain someone (no relation) who recently blew $700 on a Ralph Lauren belt.]

BTW, did anyone see Ann hug Bon Jovi not once but three times this morning? After the whole Brad Pitt face touching debacle, I thought she was going to be scaling back on the physical displays of affection! Much as I lurve the Today Show and Ann, sometimes I just have to cringe.

If that chick is fat, I am morbidly obese.

Bobble head is the perfect term. Really unfair to the rest of us

When I got married, I was 5'11" and 153 lbs. My mom thought I was anorexic or on drugs. I was too skinny. I'm not too skinny anymore... My drivers license still says 132 lbs... I'll never change that no matter WHAT my weight!

I've never liked Ralph Lauren's clothing. My teenage daughter who is very fashion conscious doesn't either. She thinks they look dated and dorky. I tend to agree, and I buy my jeans at Walmart and my shirts at the Disney store.

Didn't see any of this stuff on the morning shows. I have no problem with PDA and if Ann Curry is crossing the line with guests by holding onto them too long, too frequently or touching their faces, so what!! Who doesn't like a lil' hug or two or three?

If I ever had a rapport with Brad Pitt and became close enough in his personal space to touch his face I would. Angelina would have to get over it, but I'd probably have a great rapport with her too so she wouldn't mind.

However that Ralph Laurn model needs a sandwich or five. LOL

I would've been dry humping Bon Jovi's leg. Just saying. Boyfriend is looking FOINE!!!

Remember when Ann fondled Leonard Nimoy's ear?

I love Ann. I didn't used to, because she's, you know, so bad at her job. But then we went to the Today Show a couple years ago - out on the plaza - and she was so charming and real - and the most beautiful person I'd ever seen... I just find it charming that someone with her job can still get a little star struck.

As far as that chick being fat... Oh, heck, I've got nothing...

I dislike Ann. She grates. on. my. nerves.

And as far as 120 pounds being too fat, well. I am so glad my Boss is not concerned of such things. :)

Blessings-
Amanda

Ralph Lauren needs to come to my town and eat dinner at the Golden Corral on a Friday night. Then he will see what fat looks like.

She's beautiful. Where do these standards come from? I once heard a designer say that tall, shapeless, bony women are chosen for very practical reasons -- their shape acts as a hanger, and clothes look best on hangers? It sounds absurd to me. I remember reading Jenna Fischer (The Office) saying that she has to keep her figure size 4 or below because most designers' free samples are in size 4...and she wouldn't have the variety of clothes if she were a 6 or more.

What's also gross is that the publicity, whether good or bad, will be good for stupid Ralph Lauren. Because I think the only bad publicity is no publicity. :O(

Ann Curry needs to simmer down!

Wow, I would loooove to be fat at a hefty 120 pounds! And $700 for a RL belt?? Are you kidding me??

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Nice to meet you. I'm traveling this week which is why I seem to be MIA on SITS and my blog.
It infuriates me that that model was told she as fat! Ditto to what Kathie said!

HUH... WHA???? I saw the words Brad Pitt, and forgot everything else I read!!! LOL

Just kidding... again, what a sad, sad message that is sending about our self-image as women. I pray for my daughter!
And I think for Ralph Lauren... he loves contraversy, and no press is bad press to him. He has always pushed the envelope... but this time waaaay to far.

Again though.. Brad?? Did someone mention Brad???

I love the Today show, but I'm not an Ann fan. I didn't know that she touched Brad Pitt's face. WHAT???

That model was fired for being healthy. Ok, that's nice.

That digitised photo does not look like any woman, what so ever!
