Belly Dance Smackdown - Part II

No Bachelorette updates here, but if you are looking for Belly Dancing Updates, you've come to the right spot!!!

I know you've all been on the edge of your seats waiting for this week's report ;-)

I decided to broach the subject of the unfriendly beyootches as I drove to class with my classmate. And lo and behold I was NOT IMAGINING THINGS!! As soon as I mentioned getting the "once over" and snickers she knew right away who I was referring to: the Ice Princess and her cohort. She was also getting bad vibes and noticed them looking her over as well.

My friend started the class many months before I did, so she is one of the few "veterans" in the class. She was a little P.O.'d at the pushiness of the Ice Princess (who we now refer to as Ariel, because she has long red hair) to get to the front of the room. She tried to engage Ariel in conversation, complimenting her on something, but Ariel's response was barely a grunt.

I am just elated to confirm that I AM NOT BEING PARANOID! Because you know that paranoia is the destroyer :D

But back to Monday night's class: The instructor had us gathered 'round her laptop to view a video on proper makeup techniques, i.e. wear gobs and gobs. It was about a 10 minute video. A few of us asked questions at the end and we were still standing together as a group. Well, off goes Ariel - about 15 feet away to admire herself and primp her outfit in the mirror. Hello?????
The teacher glanced over with a quizzical look. Oh, and one of the makeup requirements is to wear a line from our lower lip to our chins - this indicates what "tribe" we belong to. (This really is a lot of fun- I've always wanted to belong to something akin to a "tribe") Anyway, Ariel says, in whiny voice, "Do we really have to do that?" The teacher was a little taken aback, but assured her that yes, we did.

Anyway, I'm not sure that the instructor has gotten the big picture yet. While she was demonstrating something I glanced over and noticed Ariel looking down her nose at the teacher with her usual air of superiority. Beyootch needs a reality check something fierce.

And by the way, her buddy wasn't there tonight, which meant she talked to absolutely no one. When we were gathered in groups at the beginning of the class exchanging pleasantries, she was off on her own, undoubtedly admiring herself. At the end of class she had her shoes on and was out the door without so much as a goodbye to anyone.

My friend said she has been hoping that Ariel would drop out, but I told her it was doubtful we would be so lucky. Once someone invests in a costume, I tend to think they plan on sticking around for a while.

Lucky us. One things for sure, she's never ever gonna be my "sister in dance!" I'll call her an "estranged sister who I despise in dance"

P.S. Why has "beyootch" not been added to spell checker yet???

I bet she doesn't come back once she finds out she really does have to paint the line down her face... (Hey, but if she does, I'll pack up the nail gun for you.)

I'm betting she doesn't draw the line on her face...someone needs to ask her since she's so superior to the whole thing, as she seems to believe, why is she there? ;-)

I still can't believe you're a belly dancer. If I tried, I think I'd more resemble the chica on the right of this superior snap. And isn't it funny that some grown women have never really left their high school days behind?

Totally laughed at the Parnoia is the destroyer... My husband will sing that line all the time!!!

But I figured everyone noticed it - what a fun, loving person - huh? UGH - maybe she'll get the hint that no one is really even caring to be her friend...

or if she keeps it up, maybe the instructor will kick her out.. fingers crossed!

I can't believe that "Beeeyotch" has joined a class knowing there are going to be others in it as well....
I mean, what is the phrase..."Why can't we all just get along?" LOL

I really find it amazing that adults still act like her and get away with it...That would totally feel like High School all over again!!!
You just keep your head up Carma....and work it girl!!! :)

She is definitely a beeeyotch.

She sounds like an awesome person. I agree that Beeyotch should be added to spell checker too.

Maybe someone should offer to help draw her line in for her...and draw a target instead? ;)

Im so glad you spoke up to your classmate. She will get her comeuppance. OOH maybe you should switch the makeup shes gonna draw on her face with to a permanent marker or something hehe (is that too bitchy?)

Good Luck Carma

"Smackaho Tribe" Bwwaaahhh!!! :-) Love that!!!

I would hope that eventually the beeyotch would start to realize she is rubbing people that wrong way then just disappear but unfortunately women like her never grow up.

It's amazing how people are different when they don't have their backup. I can't believe she is so obvious that even the instructor notices. Who does she think she is?

Wow, I just read part one (being on vacation I missed a few posts here and there) and now that another dancer is feeling the same way along with indicators from the instructor I really think the instructor needs to talk with the two women. Unfortunately, two peple can very quickly ruin it for the rest if they begin to make others uncomfortable and even the instructor uncomfortable. It is time to make those two women uncomfortable and let them know their behavior is not liked or wanted and they need to take it elsewhere.

Ick. Why is she even there?

angelcel said...

Yes, I'm wondering why she is even there too. It doesn't sound like it's for fun and it clearly can't be to make new friends!

...And 'Smackaho tribe' is one I've *definitely* got to remember! :)

I have so many estranged sisters who I despise in many sports, but none in dance. I need to get out more!

I just came over from I AM MOMMY and I am so lost but completely in love. You kill me, way funny girl!

And - Smackaho, seriously almost just peed my pants!

Ohhh! Sounds like a smackdown. Ariel needs a reality check. Too bad she is too much into herself to get one.

That is so cool that you are taking Belly dance classes. You are so brave!

Oh gosh I love this post.

I knew you weren't being paranoid. Girls know these things.
