Bring on the Humidity! *giveaway*

I am extremely excited about my latest giveaway! Remember a while back when I said that I was eager to try a new anti-frizz hair product for my follically challenged frizzy hair? ...Well, I'm happy to report that I've had the opportunity to try No Frizz Wave-Shaping Curl Defining Styling Spray and No Frizz Straight Making Styling Spray. Both products are made by Living proof™.

I first came across the name of this company in a fashion magazine. After looking at their website and philosophy, I was further intrigued.

Here's some background info from Living proof™:

"Nearly every anti-frizz product on the market - there are more than 1,000 treats frizz with silicone....The problem with silicione is that it doesn't address the causes of frizz; It doesn't prevent humidity from entering the hair shaft, and it doesn't reduce the surface friction on hair.....Living Proof™ scientists identified the problem as one they could solve. The company was created for the purpose of applying advanced technology to solve the toughest beauty challenges. We are a team of scientists led by MIT Institute Professor Dr. Robert Langer, and beauty authorities who share a single vision: to invent efficient formulas with new molecules that deliver results you can see across the room."

Without further ado, here are some pictures I took of my little experiment.

Here is my hair in it's natural frizzy state. NO styling products were used and I let my hair air dry. You can be sure that this is an unretouched photo! Otherwise I would have used better lighting and my face would match my neck. Notice my "Bozo No-No" hair:

After spritzing my hair with No Frizz Wave-Shaping Curl Defining Spray (and allowing it to air-dry) here's how my hair looked:

As you can see, my frizz has been tamed. In it's place, defined waves. There are still a few flyaways, but I have a feeling this may be because I should have saturated my hair more with the spray.

One thing I'm especially excited about is that Living proof™ states that the product performance improves with continued usage. With such wonderful results after only one treatment, I'm in for some fantabulous hair down the road!

Next, I tried No Frizz Straight Making Styling Spray and styled my hair using a blow dryer. I think you'll agree, the results were simply amazing:

I purposely tried both products on a damp, humid weekend. And, living in the South, we have plenty of humidity. I am outside in this picture so you can see it is an overcast day. You'll have to trust me on the humidity. Believe me, it was very humid. It rained on and off throughout the day and my hair held up through it all...

My hair was silky and shiny. MB wasn't at home when I tried the No Frizz Straight Making Styling Spray. When he returned and saw my "new" hair he said "Wow! Your hair looks gorgeous." A compliment from my beloved? It doesn't get much better than that!!

Here's an added benefit to using these products. According to Living proof ™, "...the technology repels most other materials like water and oils, translating into a non-greasy coating that doesn't attract dirt and other particulates.....it is actually more repellent to dirt and particles than natural hair; as a result, you can actually go longer between shampoos."

Translation: On days I am running late for work, I can skip the shampooing!

I would like to try to the wave shaping, curl defining, no frizz, styling spray for fine to medium hair. I think it would bring out the natural wave in my hair when I let it air dry.

P.S. Your hair does look good straight!

Congrats on the compliment from the Cap'n. and to imagine, all of that Silicone saved for other uses...

Question is has the male side of the family tried these yet?

Wow, I need to try this stuff. Their site says I need the "wave shaping curl defining no frizz styling cream for medium to thick hair." I usually use both a cream and a spray to tame my hair, I would love it if just one product could work!

I may have to do a frizzy hair demo post for an extra entry :)

I was a subscriber already, but I've switched it to follow. Don't really need both :)

I'm a true believer in Aveda's BeCurly to take care of my frizzies, but the "wave shaping curl defining no frizz styling cream for medium to thick hair" looks pretty awesome.

Great giveaway!

I want that No Frizz stuff! Heck, I live in GA where it is humid 12 months a year. And my hair is waaaay curlier than I want it to be.

I want to have hair like yours. You look great!

Hah! This is the one product I don't need. I almost wish I did. I associate "the frizzies" with thick, thick hair with lots of body. Which I don't have. In fact, when humidity hits (which it doesn't really in Sonoma) my hair finally gets some body.

I must try this. I just posted about if I could invent something it would be a serum that would actually keep the frizz out!

Ok--So I went to the website and let me tell you, especially today, I need some kind of frizz help. I'm not sure if I need the straightening spray, cream or treatment, because I have really combination hair, but it needs to be straight and smooth! Please help!

shawnaberger said...

I have also just become your follower, because clearly you have anti- frizz skills and these kind of things should be followed. I live in Washington state and there is far too much water and frizz to be had here!

shawnaberger said...

I am commenting on your blog and anti-frizz goodness on facebook as well. Does that count?
