Sad News

If you visit here often, you have no doubt read the witty comments and cheerful banter of a frequent visitor and friend, Mad Asthmatic.

I am so sad to let you know that Mad Asthmatic (whose name I just learned was Emma) passed away over the weekend after suffering a heart attack.
She will be missed by so many of us.

Please read her last blog post to see what a wonderful person she was and to get a glimpse of her vibrant attitude.

There is a thread on auk (asthma site) and also people are writing condolences on her facebook page. If you would like any additional information, please send me an email.

Carma,
Wow what a tragic loss of a bright shining angel. I wasn't on here long enough to get to know MA, but I know if she meant alot to you then she was very special indeed.

My condolences to you on the loss of your treasured friend.

Oh, dear! I just met Emma online a couple weeks ago when she stopped by my blog and let me know that she lived not far from where we are moving in a few months. How very sad.

Thank you for posting about it.

Carma, I am shattered. She was so young and so brave. We were mutual 'bloggers who support' and she was never slow to cheer me up with a comment whenever she thought I might need it. With all her physical disabilities, she was so proud to be a member of my 'virtual' harem and I can't believes she has gone - just like that, even though she gave us all fair warning in a recent post.

My condolences to her family, and thank you again.

Carma, thank you for stopping by to leave that difficult message - You are a good 'Addams Family' friend.

I too had only the briefest of relationships with Emma after she stopped by my blog via dear Billy's - I was checking each day for updates from her after her last piece of writing - It is really unbearably sad and her family must be more than devastated.

My blessings to you, Carma, and thank you again - A fond farewell to Emma, now the sweetest of spirits x

Thank you for letting us know. I had become quite worried at her unusual silence. She was indeed good at the cheerful banter, and will be missed.

It really hit me this morning. With the time change between England and San Francisco, she always seemed to be writing while I was sleeping. It became a ritual that there would be a new post from her and/or a snarky private Tweet waiting for me when I got up. It became a routine for me to walk the dogs at 6AM, grab a glass of orange juice and sit down at the computer to see what Emma had sent me. Some people's personalities just shine through their typed and blogged words. Emma was one of those. She will be sorely missed.

Thanks for telling my via the blog.Emma was a special person who I only knew for a little while, from her blogging and messages, a person with a beautiful soul. I'll miss those messages.

Thank you all for posting your kind words about Emma. Like Blue State, one of the highlights of my morning was checking my blog to see if MA had visited. This morning it hit like a ton of bricks realizing that I will never have that opportunity again :(
I only knew Emma for a short time but she made an indelible impression.

Emma was a very dear friend of mine. We met in hospital of all places, 4 years ago. I can't believe she's. I wanted to let you know that it has helped to read your messages and I'm going to print them for her Mum and Dad

What a sad task for you. I'm fairly new to blogging lark but Emma was one of the first to make an impression. She will be truly missed.

She had visited me several times and I see that she had me on her blogroll. I have a lump in my throat.
